Trip Overview

The Annapurna Circuit Trek is a classic Himalayan journey that circles the Annapurna range, offering one of Nepal’s most diverse trekking experiences. The trail passes through lush forests, terraced farmlands, alpine valleys, and the dramatic high-altitude landscapes of the Mustang region.

Beginning in the Marsyangdi Valley, the trek ascends through traditional Gurung, Manangi, and Thakali villages, showcasing cultures influenced by both Hindu and Tibetan Buddhist traditions, along with monasteries and stunning mountain scenery. The major highlight is crossing Thorong La Pass (5,416 m), followed by a descent to the sacred site of Muktinath and continuation through the Kali Gandaki Valley toward Pokhara. Ideal for trekkers with good fitness, the journey blends cultural discovery, varied landscapes, and high Himalayan adventure into an unforgettable experience.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar (760 m)

Scenic drive through rivers, hills, and rural landscapes to Besisahar, the starting point of the Annapurna Circuit.

Day 2: Drive to Chame (2,670 m)

Drive along the Marsyangdi River through waterfalls and mountain villages to reach Chame, the district headquarters of Manang.

Day 3: Chame to Pisang (3,200 m)

Trek through pine forests and narrow valleys with stunning views of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal.

Day 4: Pisang to Manang (3,540 m)

Follow the upper trail via traditional villages and monasteries with panoramic mountain views before arriving in Manang.

Day 5: Acclimatization Day in Manang

Rest and acclimatization hike to nearby viewpoints or Gangapurna Lake to prepare for higher altitude.

Day 6: Manang to Yak Kharka (4,050 m)

Gradual ascent into alpine terrain with thinning vegetation and expansive mountain scenery.

Day 7: Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (4,450 m)

Short trek toward the base of Thorong La Pass. Preparation and rest for the high pass crossing.

Day 8: Cross Thorong La Pass (5,416 m) – Trek to Muktinath (3,800 m)

Early morning ascent to Thorong La Pass, the highest point of the trek. Descend to the sacred pilgrimage site of Muktinath.

Day 9: Muktinath to Jomsom (2,720 m)

Trek through the Mustang region’s dry landscapes and traditional settlements.

Day 10: Drive or Fly to Pokhara

Enjoy scenic travel from Jomsom to Pokhara with views of Kali Gandaki Valley.

Day 11: Rest Day in Pokhara

Relax by Phewa Lake or explore Pokhara’s attractions.

Day 12: Drive or Fly to Kathmandu

Return to Kathmandu via scenic drive or short flight.

Day 13: Leisure Day in Kathmandu

Free day for sightseeing, shopping, or cultural exploration.

Day 14: Buffer / Contingency Day

Reserved for weather delays or additional acclimatization if required.

Day 15: Departure

Transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
